It's only fair to share some things about myself if you're welcoming me into your birth space! My name is Ciara Lee and I currently live in Riverside, OH. I am a Christian, and I've been married since 2014 to my high school sweetheart. We share 4 silly kiddos together (who all guided me through their own sets of pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and postpartum experiences).
I began my journey with birthwork after the birth of my third child, who was a VBAC at home in 2020 with my own midwife. About a year later, I started attending births as a doula and shortly after began my midwifery education. I completed my didactic work at The Midwives College of Utah, and worked closely with a preceptor based out of Northern Kentucky to complete my hands-on training. I graduated from The Midwives College of Utah in August of 2024 with my BSM, and earned my Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential when I passed the NARM Exam in November 2024. In 2025, I became a Licensed Certified Professional Midwife (LCPM) in the state of Kentucky, though this option is not yet available to CPMs in the state of Ohio. I also began my education for my MSM, but have placed that dream on the back burner for now in order to stay present at home. To stay up to date on my skills and training, I regularly jump at the opportunities to attend Midwifery Workshops for continuing education (in 2025 alone, I have attended trainings for shoulder dystocia, breech, suturing, and birth emergencies that spanned a total of 5 days), and I also attend CPR and NRP classes at least once every 2 years (more often, when available).
When I'm not working with pregnant and postpartum mamas or attending births, you'll probably find me in one of the following places: church, the kitchen, or the garden... Or maybe catching up on some sleep. I also enjoy homeschooling my kiddos and taking them on adventures.
